Rite of Election
The Archdiocese of Brisbane celebrated the Rite of Election or Enrolment of Names at Saint Stephen's Cathedral on February 22, 2026. This Liturgy is a statement of the catechumen's readiness for the Sacraments of Initiation into the Catholic Faith and their intention to follow Christ as well as the church's acceptance of their intentions. The service was presided by Archbishop Shane Mackinlay.

THANK YOU! Numerous parishioners do an incredible amount of voluntary work that keeps the parish thriving. Ministers of the Word proclaim the Scriptures that bring it alive within our celebrations. Extraordinary Ministers of Communion, sacristans, altar servers serve the community at mass and take communion to the house bound. Musicians and singers lift our spirits and voices as we join in song to praise our God. Also, to those who clean up and keep tidy inside and outside of our church. To those who do many unseen and unheralded jobs; You make a difference and the parish is grateful. To these parishioners we are very appreciative of your ministry and pray that you know that God will continue to be with you in all that you do. Fr Dang |

Multicultural Mass Celebration, 6 October 2024
On Sunday 12th of October 2024, we gathered to celebrate a special moment in the life of our Parish community. The Multicultural Mass was truly a wonderful liturgical celebration and lived up to its colour, music, worship and fellowships. “At Our Lady of Fatima Parish, we are more than just a congregation; we are a living, breathing example of unity and harmony among diverse backgrounds” as Mr Hugo Silva had addressed at the acknowledgement. Some 500 people from many cultural backgrounds across the parish attended in their traditional costumes reflected the reality of our culturally diverse parish. From experience, the scale of this Mass cannot happen unless there are scores of volunteers from various cultural communities working together to bring about this beautiful celebration.
On behalf of the parish, I would like to extend a massive thank you to all parish volunteers from various cultural communities. You have done incredible jobs from assisting in managing traffic, decorations, liturgical ministers, donating and serving food from various cultural communities and particularly, those who assisted in setting and tidying up the parish ground after all the celebrations have finished.
A big thank you to the choirs who prepared and practiced in the weeks leading up to Multicultural Mass. The different worship music is something to behold. Flags and Gospel procession add such unique beauty to the celebration. I would like to thank Efren and parish liturgy team for the many weeks of organising the many, many parts that are needed to bring together this massive liturgical gathering. It was another day to remember.
To all parishioners, thank you for the richness and diversity you bring to our Church. Thank you for your energy and enthusiasm for the faith which energises the parish. We very much need you and all you bring.” Thank you. Fr Dang
